Madelana Ferrara, M.A. and co-founder of MYB, has been a practitioner of the healing arts for over three decades. In addition to Exercise Science and Movement Studies, Madelana has studied a variety of somatic re-education modalities, energy-based practices, and the use of quantum science to facilitate mind/body integration. Her education in music and vocal training, theater arts, psychology, meditation, yoga and shamanism further inform her work as an intuitive mind/body/heart healer. She is a trained practitioner in The Trager Approach. She developed the original Starseed Yoga Teacher Training Program with her teacher, Jyoti Crystal, and then founded her own MadMat Yoga Center and YTTP Program.
Richard Mack, L.M.T. and co-founder of MYB, has been active in the healing arts for 30 years. With a background in Native American spirituality, Pranic Healing, and other energy work Richard’s present focus is on Somatic Movement Therapy. He has been trained in The Trager Approach by Dr. Milton Trager’s direct lineage of teachers and works with clients of all ages – children and adults – who have been impacted by trauma, stress or neurological disorders. In addition to his MYB clients, he has a specialized practice with young, differently abled athletes on and off the field.
Debora (Debby) Catanio, co-founder of MYB, has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and has completed two 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training Programs (2003 and 2009). She has trained in The Trager Approach for mind/body integration. She has additional and extensive training in working with Scoliosis and bone issues, restorative yoga, back care and working with an older population. Debby has developed and runs programs for seniors that include Chair Yoga and Mindfulness Practices. In addition to her specialized classes for people with physical challenges, she has taught in a wide variety of settings, including Starseed Yoga and MadMat Yoga.
Fernando Rojas, PhD, has been a bodywork practitioner since 2004. He completed his first training in Osho Rebalancing, a meditation-based bodywork style that combines Rolfing with Trager techniques, in Costa Rica. He went on to train in The Trager Approach and is currently certified to lead introductory classes. He is a Therapeutic Massage instructor and a NCBTMB approved provider of CE classes for massage therapists. Fernando completed his PhD at Northumbria University in the UK where his research focused on a mindfulness-based method to explore motivation in creative endeavors.
