Somatic Mindfulness is a unique and evolving form of therapeutic, somatic touch that explores the body-mind connection through mindful, intentional touch, and shared, mental (and/or verbal) connection through the medium of the body/mind. It is highly effective in promoting flexibility, stability, freedom and greater body awareness by releasing habitual holding or tension patterns in the mind and body. Other important effects include clarity of mind and reduced stress and/or anxiety. This therapy induces deep relaxation, can be part of a rehabilitation program. It can help enhance sports or artistic performance. It’s an experience that progressively and effortlessly transforms body and movement perceptions through new positive sensations.
It is a form of embodied presence that delivers attuned, heartful touch that reaches the mind through desirable sensations in the body and offers the possibility of transformation to both therapist and client.
