“… a good marriage is that in which each appoints the other guardian of his solitude, and shows him this confidence, the greatest in his power to bestow…. But once the realization is accepted that even between the closest human beings infinite distances continue to exist, a wonderful living side by side can grow up, if they succeed in loving the distance between them which makes it possible for each to see the other whole against a wide sky.”
What Does it Mean to Bond?
While watching an episode of the new series called Gaslit, Maddi was mesmerized by a somewhat haunting recitation by the John Mitchell character (played by Sean Penn). She couldn’t wait to search for this tidbit of wisdom about relationship offered by Rainer Maria Rilke. Did this also catch your attention?
She thought you might enjoy a brief excerpt of what she found:
“I hold this to be the highest task of a bond between two people: that each should stand guard over the solitude of the other….. a good marriage is that in which each appoints the other guardian of his solitude, and shows him this confidence, the greatest in his power to bestow. A togetherness between two people is an impossibility, and where it seems, nevertheless, to exist, it is a narrowing, a reciprocal agreement which robs either one party or both of his fullest freedom and development. But, once the realization is accepted that even between the closest human beings infinite distances continue to exist, a wonderful living side by side can grow up, if they succeed in loving the distance between them which makes it possible for each to see the other whole and against a wide sky!”
Is Summer Cleaning a Thing?
Spring cleaning! What does that phrase even mean? Debby feels like that phrase could be a little different; maybe year long cleaning or daily cleaning to stop the clutter. Spring is almost over and summer will be here before you know it. The question is "Will her 2 car garage EVER be able to hold 2 cars?" Maybe SPRING CLEANING needs to happen more often! In 23 years that two car garage has really been a 1 car garage with the remaining space used for shelves filled with things that are rarely (if ever) used. Can anyone out there relate?
Rediscovering The Christ Path
Richard recently attended a 6 week lecture by Andrew Harvey entitled " Rediscovering The Christ Path’’ and had an amazing experience! Andrew, a brilliant Oxford scholar and author of several books on the topic of Jesus Christ and his teachings, brought Richard back to the very foundation of his spiritual upbringing.
"Go back to your roots" was something Richard's dear clairvoyant friend and teacher, Michel Milonnet repeated over and over again. “I studied with Michel more than 30 years ago.... and my decade with him laid the foundation for the work I do today,” said Richard.
Michel’s message that people should "return to your traditional roots particularly in moments of darkness” has been echoed by many a sage teacher. For Rick, being brought up with the teachings of "The Christ Consciousness” meant the power of love for one another. These are challenging times and, to navigate uncertainty, it is vital to connect through your heart. Open your heart and let your love light shine.
Taking a Walk Down Startled Lane
Debby takes daily walks and most days she walks through the park in her neighborhood. 4 out of 5 times she walks past someone who is startled as she passes. She wonders if there is a way for this not to happen. Is she too heavy with her step or maybe too light on her feet? Or possibly she has her earbuds a little loud? As she pondered this she was reminded of a yoga class that she took many years ago where she attempted her first headstand and came down with a resounding ‘crash’ taking a peaceful yoga class somewhere she thinks it should not have gone. Now, in that situation, could she have been just a little lighter on her feet? A long ago memory brought back by a current event. Do these thoughts happen for you?
The Way of The Water
The long awaited trailer for Avatar 2 has just come out. The last Avatar movie came out in 2009! That is certainly a long wait. Have any of you seen the first film? If so, what do you think about seeing the one coming out?
Sometimes, when there is a long wait for the continuation in a series, it can be a bit of a drag. And for some, maybe it is all worth the wait. You can check out the trailer here: https://youtu.be/NZrX_ES93JA
If you haven't seen the first movie, Meghan really suggests it :).
